NOAH

the representative

NOAH’s member companies range from large multinational organisations, that operate around the world, to small independent UK companies. However, due to the structure of NOAH, every member can make its opinion heard so NOAH is the true voice of the industry.

One of NOAH’s most important roles is to represent the companies that research, develop, manufacture or market animal medicines in the UK, giving information and seeking views on subjects affecting the industry. This involves consultation amongst NOAH members to agree a consensus view and then talking to other organisations or individuals who are involved. This includes organisations representing those who regulate, prescribe, supply and use animal medicines.

As a member of IFAH, the worldwide animal health representative body, NOAH is able to pass UK industry information and viewpoints for consideration at the international level, and also channel relevant legislative and technical information back to the UK industry.

NOAH acts as the political spokesperson for the industry by providing information to politicians and their researchers about how animal medicines help in the provision of healthy food from healthy animals, and about their role in preventing disease in the nation’s companion animals. This is done through contributions to political websites, as well as meeting with MPs, peers, ministers, civil servants and UK MEPs.

NOAH wants to see policies that are based on sound science, which are predictable and so enable businesses to invest, and which promote animal welfare, ensure food safety, encourage sustainable agriculture, make product information more freely available, and encourage research.

NOAH welcomes any opportunity to take part in informed and rational debate. At all times it supports that which has been scientifically tested, against subjective or ill-informed comment.
