Animals in Veterinary Medicines Research

Without modern medicines, millions of people and animals would not be alive today. The discovery and development of those medicines could not have been achieved without research and testing, some of which, by necessity, must involve animals. As old diseases are conquered and new ones emerge, today's research will benefit future generations.

Medicines have to be as safe as possible: for animals, for those administering the medicine, for the environment and for consumers of animal produce. They have to be of high quality and have to work. This means they have to be tested - this is not just common sense, but a legal requirement.
