Equine Vaccination - new briefing document from NOAH

The National Office of Animal Health's latest briefing document is called 'Equine Vaccination'.

It answers some of the most common questions on vaccines from horse and pony owners. These include simple issues such as 'Why should I vaccinate?', 'What do I need to vaccinate against?' and 'When should I vaccinate?'. It also deals with the more complex areas relating to the benefits of protection by vaccination compared with the very small risk of side effects, and offers some reassuring advice for owners on caring for horses and ponies after vaccination. Finally, it discusses some concerns about reliance on homeopathic vaccines for protecting horses.

Copies are available free of charge from NOAH, 3 Crossfield Chambers, Gladbeck Way, Enfield, EN2 7HF, e-mail noah@noah.co.uk. Veterinary surgeons are welcome to copy the document for their clients, or to download it from the NOAH web site, www.noah.co.uk
