Brixham Environmental Laboratory joins NOAHThe National Office of Animal Health has gained six new members this year, the latest being Brixham Environmental Laboratory. The laboratory, which provides a multidisciplinary service to industry for the investigation and resolution of environmental issues, was voted into associate membership at the NOAH Board meeting of 22 October. Based in Devon, Brixham Environmental Laboratory field and investigation teams look at the fate and effects of products and wastes in water, air and soil environments. "Demonstrating safety to the environment is an important part of the marketing authorisation process for all animal medicines," said NOAH director Roger Cook. "It is as much part of the process as demonstrating efficacy, quality and the other safety criteria such as safety to the animal, to the user of the medicine and to the consumer. We are delighted to have the benefit of Brixham Environmental Laboratory's specialist knowledge in this area, and hope that we can be of good service to them."
