VMD Chief Executive launches new NOAH
Compendium
The 2002/03 edition of the NOAH Compendium of Data Sheets for
Veterinary Products was launched on 21 October at the association's Annual
Conference in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Steve Dean, Chief Executive of the Veterinary Medicines
Directorate,
said: "The NOAH Compendium of Data Sheets for Veterinary Products
plays a key rule in the regulation of animal medicines in the UK. It
contains data sheets for more than 1000 products, providing vital
information for the veterinary surgeon as well as offering an information
source for the public.
"The Compendium helps to ensure animal medicines are used
effectively and safely, an important issue for consumers and the health
and welfare of animals," he added.
"The inclusion, in this latest edition, of a withdrawal period
table will help veterinary surgeons ensure that the use of authorised
animal medicines is safe for the consumer of meat and dairy produce.
"I would congratulate NOAH on its content and its contribution
towards the safe and effective use of veterinary medicines in the
UK," said Mr. Dean.
