NOAH's officer team for 2003
Bill Hird has been elected as the new chairman of the National Office
of Animal Health for 2003-2004. Mr Hird, who chaired the association from
1998-99, is managing director of Elanco Animal Health in the UK and
Ireland: his remit also includes the Scandinavian countries and Germany.
He is also responsible for Elanco's poultry business and public affairs
throughout Europe. The election took place at the NOAH's AGM on 24 April
In a new move to extend the expertise of NOAH's officer team, there
will be two vice-chairman for the coming year. David Biland, country
delegate, Swine Animal Global Enterprises and Ruminant Animal Global
Enterprises, Merial Animal Health
and Dr Sue Huggett, who has managerial
responsibility for Beaphar's businesses in UK and Ireland, will share this
role.
Sam Black, director of Leo Animal
Health, and last year's chairman,
becomes NOAH past-chairman.

The National Office of Animal
Health was formed on 1 January 1986 to represent the UK companies which
research, develop, manufacture and market licensed animal health
products. The association has 36 corporate members and 13 associate
members. In 2002 NOAH's members accounted for well over 90% of the £389
million UK animal health market
