NOAH's officer team for 2004Roger Stone has been elected as the new chairman of the National Office of Animal Health for 2004-2005. He is division director UK & Ireland for the Pfizer Animal Health, a position he has held since January 2002. The election took place at NOAH’s AGM in London on 22 April. The vice-chairman role will again be shared this year, in order to extend the officer team expertise. Paul Casady, Intervet UK general manager, and Dr Tony Mudd an independent consultant to the animal health sector who represents Alpharma at NOAH have been newly elected to the role. Ed Torr, executive director of Arnolds Veterinary Products, was re-elected to continue as vice-chairman for another year. Bill Hird, last year’s chairman, becomes NOAH past-chairman. Mr Hird is managing director of Elanco Animal Health in the UK and Ireland: his remit also includes the Scandinavian countries and Germany. Biographies Roger Stone Roger Stone is Division Director UK & Ireland for the Pfizer Animal Health, a position he has held since January 2002. Roger joined Pfizer Animal Health at the beginning of 1994 as Regional Marketing Director Europe based in UK and subsequently spent 3 years as Division Director Italy in Rome and most recently 4 years as Division Director France based in Paris. Prior to joining Pfizer he held sales and marketing management positions in pharmaceuticals with Boehringer Ingelheim, Rorer and Fisons. Paul Casady Paul Casady has been Intervet UK general manager since 2002. He took up his first position with Intervet Inc in America in 1991, then moved on to work as regional manager in the Far East and area manager for Intervet International in the Netherlands. Before moving to the UK, Paul worked for Intervet Australia for two and a half years. Paul has a BSc in animal sciences having graduated from Kansas State University and has previously worked for Pitman Moore Veterinary Products and American Cyanamid. Dr Tony Mudd Dr Tony Mudd, is an independent consultant to the animal health sector who represents Alpharma at NOAH. He has had over 30 years of technical and commercial experience working for multi-national, animal health and nutrition corporations in general management, technical and regulatory affairs. The main focus of his activity has been with antimicrobials and antiparasitics and included feed additives such as vitamin and mineral premixes. He has headed the Global Animal Health Industry Association and participated as head of delegation to Codex Alimentarius Ed Torr Ed Torr, Executive Director of Arnolds Veterinary Products, was re-elected to continue as vice-chairman for another year. Ed has had 20 years in industry, starting at ICI animal health, and going through mergers with Coopers, Pitman Moore and Mallinckrodt. He then joined Alfa Laval Agri, then joined the Dechra group in 1997 as Sales Director, joining Arnolds in 1998. Bill Hird Bill Hird, last year’s chairman, who also chaired the association from 1998-99, becomes NOAH past-chairman. Mr Hird is managing director of Elanco Animal Health in the UK and Ireland: his remit also includes the Scandinavian countries and Germany. He is also responsible for Elanco’s poultry business and public affairs throughout Europe.

The National Office of Animal Health was formed on 1 January 1986 to represent the UK companies which research, develop, manufacture and market licensed animal health products. The association has 33 corporate members and 14 associate members. In 2003 NOAH's members accounted for well over 90% of the £398 million UK animal health market
