NOAH's officer team for 2005
Roger Stone has been re-elected chairman of the National
Office of Animal Health for 2005-2006. He is division director UK & Ireland
for the Pfizer Animal Health, a position he has held since January 2002. The
election took place at NOAH’s AGM in London on 20 April.
The vice-chairman role will again be shared this year, in
order to extend the officer team expertise. Dr Tony Mudd an independent
consultant to the animal health sector who represents Alpharma at NOAH
remains as NOAH vice-chairman. He will be joined by Graham Dick, divisional
head of the animal health division of Bayer HealthCare UK & Ireland and Bob
Parmenter, livestock director, Schering-Plough Animal Health.
Bill Hird, last year’s chairman, remains NOAH
past-chairman. Mr Hird is managing director of Elanco Animal Health in the
UK and Ireland: his remit also includes the Scandinavian countries and
Germany. Graham Davenport, country delegate/head of LAGE, Merial Animal
Health Limited, remains as NOAH treasurer.

manufacture and market licensed animal health products. The association has
32 corporate members and 13 associate members. In 2004 NOAH's members
accounted for well over 90% of the £420 million UK animal health market
Biographies
Roger Stone. Roger Stone is Division Director UK &
Ireland for the Pfizer Animal Health, a position he has held since January
2002. Roger joined Pfizer Animal Health at the beginning of 1994 as Regional
Marketing Director Europe based in UK and subsequently spent 3 years as
Division Director Italy in Rome and most recently 4 years as Division
Director France based in Paris. Prior to joining Pfizer he held sales and
marketing management positions in pharmaceuticals with Boehringer Ingelheim,
Rorer and Fisons.
Dr Tony Mudd .Dr Tony Mudd, is an independent
consultant to the animal health sector who represents Alpharma at NOAH. He
has had over 30 years of technical and commercial experience working for
multi-national, animal health and nutrition corporations in general
management, technical and regulatory affairs. The main focus of his activity
has been with antimicrobials and antiparasitics and included feed additives
such as vitamin and mineral premixes. He has headed the Global Animal Health
Industry Association and participated as head of delegation to Codex
Alimentarius. He is currently acting executive director, IFAH (International
Federation for Animal Health).
Graham Dick. Graham Dick is a veterinary surgeon.
After a number of years in general practice (including as a partner in a
large practice in Diss with particular interest in herd health programmes)
and a short spell with MAFF, he joined Bayer in Bury St Edmunds as technical
products manager. Following nearly 10 years overseas with Bayer Australia
and then Bayer HQ in Monheim, in August 2003 he arrived back in UK (this
time Newbury, the Animal Health operation having been moved in the interim
to join other Bayer HealthCare divisions at Bayer Headquarters in Newbury)
to take over as divisional head of the animal health division of Bayer
HealthCare UK & Ireland.
Bob Parmenter. Bob Parmenter, livestock director -
Schering-Plough Animal Health, has been involved in animal health since
1970, when he joined the Animal Health Department of ICI Pharmaceuticals.
His previous role within Schering-Plough was Director of Companion Animals
up to 2000.
Bill Hird. Bill Hird, chairman from 2003-04, who
also chaired the association from 1998-99, remains as NOAH past-chairman. Mr
Hird is managing director of Elanco Animal Health in the UK and Ireland: his
remit also includes the Scandinavian countries and Germany. He is also
responsible for Elanco’s poultry business and public affairs throughout
Europe.
