2008 NOAH Compendium now available for pharmacists
The 2008 edition of the NOAH Compendium of Data Sheets
for Animal Medicines has been published. The complete edition is available
for £37 from NOAH. It contains full data sheets/SPCs for products in all
legal categories (POM-V through to medicines marketed under the Small Animal
Exemption Scheme) from 36 companies. Products are easy to find with a choice
of indexes - colour-coded to make navigation about the book easier. There is
also a useful guide to the
prescribing cascade,
withdrawal period tables and copies of the
VMD Suspected Adverse Reaction scheme forms.
Once again, NOAH has also produced two special editions
which exclude POM-V medicines. AMTRA has commissioned enough of these
publications for them to send the appropriate one to each person registered
on its SQP lists.
But NOAH predicts their use will be wider, as they
contain information on those products pharmacists may prescribe or supply
without a prescription from a veterinary surgeon.
There is a version with all non-POM-V medicines, and a
slimmer version containing just the companion animal and equine non-POM-V
medicines.
“The companion animal and equine edition will be of
particularly great value to community pharmacists who are entering the
companion animal medicine market,” said NOAH chief executive Phil Sketchley.
Copies of the complete edition and these additional
versions are available from NOAH. See
