Technical Policy & Membership Assistant

We are looking for a highly motivated, adaptable, commercially minded veterinary or animal science graduate to join us on the NOAH team.

This new post, created at a time of great change for our industry, offers a varied and interesting workload and the chance to develop key skills in a supportive and stimulating environment. You will have the opportunity to use your knowledge of animal health and marketing skills to deliver great services to NOAH members, build membership and communicate with external stakeholders and policymakers.

Background

NOAH is the UK trade association representing the animal health industry. Our aim is to promote the benefits of safe, effective, quality products for the health and welfare of all animals. NOAH member companies are responsible for around 97% of animal medicines sold in the UK plus many other animal health products. The industry is highly regulated with legislation covering the authorisation, distribution and sale of medicines.

This is an exciting time to join NOAH, as we leave the EU and transition to a global trading environment. The industry is facing the challenge of ensuring ongoing availability of veterinary medicines and an appropriate regulatory landscape for the years ahead. Against this highly technical background, NOAH offers a service to its members of advice on current and forthcoming legislation and is a key partner for government, regulatory authorities, media, politicians and a wide range of other stakeholders.

NOAH has key roles in communication on the benefits of animal medicines for animal health and welfare, has a self-regulatory Code of Practice on Promotion and we publish the widely used NOAH Compendium of Data Sheets for Animal Medicines.

Bringing together our technical policy work whilst also developing member services is a new role within NOAH, reporting to the Head of Regulatory and International Affairs and also working across the NOAH team.

Profile:

The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field such as veterinary medicine, veterinary nursing, science, agriculture or biosciences plus an understanding of issues facing companion animal owners and the livestock and veterinary communities. In addition, we are looking for someone with commercial or marketing flair and the ability to build our membership offer and attract new NOAH members by helping to develop the range of services we offer.

You will be required to provide support to technical committees, draft minutes, communicate key points of interest and assist in summarising legislative proposals and other relevant documents for both NOAH members and externally via a range of media. Therefore, a good command of the English language, written and spoken, is required. Evidence of skills or an interest in technical communications is desirable.

Demonstrable knowledge of delivering membership or marketing campaigns is also a great plus – along with a desire to deliver a high-quality service within a well-regarded membership association.

You will need to be flexible, able to work on a number of concurrent subjects all within a small multi-skilled team. Diplomacy and good judgement are essential.

You must be eligible to work in the UK.

NOAH offers a competitive salary, dependant on experience, plus a range of excellent staff benefits. Please note that this role will be based remotely but you may be required to work from our Enfield office in North London on certain days in the future.

If you think you are the right person for this opportunity please submit your CV and covering letter to noah@noah.co.uk by Friday 18 September 2020.
