UK joins Horizon Europe

NOAH welcomes UK’s rejoining of the Horizon Europe programme. UK researchers can now apply for grants and bid to take part in projects under the Horizon programme and will also be able to join the governance of EU programmes, which the UK has been excluded from over the last three years, since leaving the EU.

This makes the UK more attractive for research projects and means UK researchers will be able to shape collaboration and lead consortia in the next work programme of Horizon Europe projects – a positive move for research and development for animal health in the UK.

The animal health industry plays a core role as part of the UK’s wider life sciences sector, working with and building on the excellence at our world class universities and research institutions. NOAH members are at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge innovations. These include new vaccines to prevent disease, diagnostic tools, digital technologies for livestock and pets, as well as real-time monitoring and surveillance of livestock to catch the first signs of any ill health.

Horizon will help give UK companies and research institutions opportunities to lead global work to develop new technologies and research projects.
