NOAH’s 2018 Industry in Focus campaign is set to be unveiled during this month’s National Photography Week

NOAH shares what animal health means through the eyes of our industry for the second year running Participants include vets, MPs, charity heads, pet owners and media

Following on from the successful launch of NOAH’s Industry in Focus campaign in 2017, animal medicines industry body, NOAH, is set to unveil the first collection of images from its 2018 Industry in Focus campaign. The 2018 campaign is being launched to coincide with National Photography Week (23rd-29th July) and will continue throughout the rest of the year.

The powerful visual campaign was created by NOAH to capture what animal health looks like today from a diverse range of perspectives including politicians, vets, animal charities, industry experts, livestock stakeholders and pet owners as well as NOAH members, who have all shared photographs and stories that illustrate what animal health means to them. Over the course of the campaign NOAH is aiming to show ‘the bigger picture’ of what the term ‘animal health’ means in the UK, and with these stories continue to raise awareness and inspire others to maintain and improve standards affecting animal health and welfare.

Contributions for 2018 so far include images from the Principal of Regional Veterinary Services at PDSA, Paul Mankeltow, looking at animal health as a holistic concept; Vice-Chairman and Founder of charity Hounds for Heroes, Allen G Parton, celebrating the work of assistance dogs; Cats Protection focusing on the importance of neutering; UK pet owners looking at the day to day importance of keeping an eye on pet health; Peter Gorbing of The Dementia Dog Project celebrating the power of the human-pet bond; vet Peter Wedderburn looking at the importance of comfortable rest for healthy animals; Danny Anderson of Support Dogs, showing the positive impact that support dogs have on those who need them most, Angela Smith MP highlighting the link between health and good welfare plus many more.

The full set of images collected throughout the coming months will be shared on NOAH’s social media channels and will be displayed at NOAH events including the organisation’s Annual Conference on 30 October.

Dawn Howard, NOAH chief executive, says: “Following on from last year’s success, we’re thrilled to see previous participants getting involved for the second year running alongside a variety of new contributors who have shown their enthusiasm for getting involved this year. Our vision is to build this picture of animal health year-on-year illustrating what it means to us in the UK and the issues surrounding it. Good animal health is integral to good animal welfare and we hope our campaign is part of NOAH’s efforts to raise awareness of what exemplifies its importance. At NOAH we’re really looking forward to seeing more participants come forward to share what animal health means to them personally, or on behalf of their organisation.

“The image collection shows that animal health takes on so many different meanings to different people, and it is fantastic to see the passion across the industry illustrated in these personal images and stories.

“We hope that this campaign illustrates how across the UK, whether you are a pet owner, a farmer or a vet, a politician or a charity, we all have to play our part in keeping animals happy and healthy, as well as bringing to the forefront issues of how we must continue to lead the way for the highest standards of animal health and welfare.”
