CMA review into veterinary services market for pets
7th September 2023
NOAH welcomes the announcement that the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has launched a review into the veterinary services market for household pets. Transparency and consumer confidence is vital to ensure that our pets can continue to receive the best possible levels of care and preventative treatments to ensure they remain healthy.
NOAH members work to deliver veterinary medicines and solutions to support the health and welfare of the nation’s companion animals, through all available routes to market for pet owners to access these products, in accordance with the veterinary medicines regulatory requirements. The UK veterinary sector delivers high levels of professional care for all our pets, which play such an important role in our lives, while some products are also available from other prescribers and over the counter.
As the representative body for the industry, NOAH has no part in or influence over the setting of prices for veterinary medicines.
