Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine as they try to protect their families, friends and animals. NOAH members have colleagues directly affected and we are thinking of them at this dreadful time. We are also grateful for the efforts made by other colleagues, offering support to refugees from Ukraine.
The information sources below may be useful for those thinking about how they might be able to help. We will continue to add to this as things develop.
The Disasters Emergency Committee brings together 15 leading UK aid charities raising funds to quickly and effectively respond to overseas disasters, such as the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
DEFRA: Emergency support put in place for people fleeing Ukraine and entering the UK with their pets
The World Veterinary Association (WVA), along with the Federation for Vets in Europe (FVE) and companion animal veterinary association (FECAVA) has launched ‘Vets for Ukraine’ an online portal to co-ordinate aid by European vets to help Ukrainian vets, their families and animals.
The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) has complied information and resources for people leaving with their pets.
