New NCAH Campaign to raise awareness of animal health representatives’ expertise

NOAH has launched a new campaign to help raise awareness of the NCAH – the NOAH Certificate of Animal Health which is the accredited qualification within the animal health industry. The campaign, which includes a new logo, was unveiled on 19th July at the NOAH Members’ Day in London.

As part of the new campaign NOAH introduced a new NCAH logo, a short animation video, digital banners, and for anyone that holds the qualification, an enamel pin badge to wear and an e-signature.

The NCAH qualification, accredited by Harper Adams University, helps ensure that animal medicines representatives can provide accurate and ethical information to prescribers and sellers of animal medicines in compliance with the NOAH Code of Practice for the Promotion of Animal Medicines.

NOAH Chair Ned Flaxman said: “Animal health representatives are a trusted resource for prescribers and sellers of veterinary medicines on technical and business queries. Their credibility is enhanced by the fact that it is a requirement of NOAH membership to comply with the Code of Practice for the Promotion of Animal Medicines, which requires all companies’ sales representatives involved in the sale of medicines need to be qualified – they need to appear on the NCAH register and have taken the NOAH Certificate of Animal Health (NCAH) examination within two years of joining the industry.

“Yet awareness of this qualification remains low, so we are setting out to raise its profile. The NCAH has a new look and now has its own logo – we are calling on our representatives to act as ambassadors for the expertise that they can share with prescribers of veterinary medicines, to help protect animal health and welfare.”

Stephen Baugh Course Manager for the NOAH Certificate of Animal Health from Harper Adams University added: “Achieving the NOAH Certificate of Animal Health (NCAH) ensures that certificate holders have a detailed knowledge of the key principles of regulation of the veterinary medicines industry, animal physiology and animal health.  This knowledge is vital to underpin their work within the animal industries and professions and to facilitate confident and detailed discussions with fellow professionals.”
